The Paths of Fate
(TRAY-ah): Wife of Caul and mother to all natural beings, she is a loving, nurturing goddess for all life, though one who can be roused to great anger when her mortal children go astray, in fact, her discipline can often be harder even than Caul’s, (usually coming in the form of natural disasters) though she is just as quick to forgive and show mercy to her children as well. Because her presence is manifest in the very earth itself, she is rarely portrayed otherwise though some tribal peoples will have “earth goddess” idols whose physical characteristics sometimes shock more civilized peoples (and offend the more prudish ones). In addition to being the goddess of fertility, she is venerated as the patron of hearth and home and of the ordering of the family and community, as she is willing to provide comfort to all creatures who seek her shelter. She is also the patroness of agriculture and weather and of the natural cycles of life and death. She is essentially a non-combatant and the favored weapon of her priests is a simple knife or dagger, used both as a tool of utility and for defense.
